During my second month in the office of High Sheriff, I have continued to undertake duties in all three areas.

• Upholding the Crown & the Judiciary including promoting inter-faith and belief relations.

– took part in The Big Help Out at the Coronation supporting MK Foodbank 8th May 2023
– spoke at MKIAC Art in the Park Campbell Park with Goodwill Ambassadors 13th May 2023 to help promote interfaith relations.

• Supporting and promoting the work of the police, probation, prison, emergency, and crime prevention services

– met Milton Keynes Superintendent of police Emma Baillie and visited Milton Keynes Police Station with Lord-Lieutenant and Goodwill Ambassadors Victoria Clark and Shanika Mahendran on 12 May 2023
– attended Sheriffs of the City of London Reception Old Bailey London 17 May 2023 and met with High Sheriff’s from across England Wales and Northern Island

• Convening and championing the voluntary public and business sectors – focussing on Domestic and Sexual Violence, Violence against Women & Girls (VAWG), and building sustainable communities

– attended Thames Valley Police Conference on VAWG at Town Hall Reading on Tuesday 2 May 2023
– met with Dr Olga Juraz and Dr Kim Barker to share some thoughts around their work on Online Violence Against Women, including the OVAW Observatory.
– convened a round table discussion on Domestic & Sexual Abuse and VAWG on Monday 22 May at Thames Valley Partnership with charities from Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire engaged in this work with a view to determining the focus and theme for the High Sheriff’s conference in November 2023
